Armenian, French Foreign Ministers talk Karabakh, cooperation

Armenian and French Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian and Jean-Yves Le Drian discussed issues of regional stability and security, as well as steps to address the humanitarian situation in and challenges facing Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) on Thursday, February 11.

Aivazian stressed the urgency to repatriate the Armenian prisoners of war and civilians that are being kept hostage in Azerbaijan, which he said is hampering the process.

The Foreign Ministers stressed the need to address the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process within the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship, and exchanged views on the upcoming schedule of the mediators' activity.

The two also discussed issues on the bilateral agenda and agreed to continue consultations at various levels.
