Some 105,000-110,000 people currently reside in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), head of Karabakh President's office Artak Beglaryan said Monday, February 15, Artsakhpress reports.

"Our estimates show that 105,000-110,000 people currently live in Artsakh, which means that 35,000-40,000 Karabakh residents, predominantly displaced persons, still reside in Armenia," Beglaryan said at a public discussion on Monday.

"Of those, no more than 10,000 people are not refugees, but they have made the decision to not return."

According to him, 10,000 people who were left homeless as a result of Azerbaijan's aggression in fall 2020 are currently living in various shelters across Artsakh.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev on November 9 signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days. Under the deal, the Armenian side has returned all the seven regions surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh, having lost a part of Karabakh itself in hostilities.
