Armenia is commemorating the 13th anniversary of March 1 events.
Popular protests led by first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan on March 1 and 2, 2008 grew into violence between the police and rally-goers, leaving 10 people dead and about 200 injured.
The First President was running for President in 2008 and had summoned a massive rally in Yerevan after losing his bid.
The Armenian National Congress, headed by Ter-Petrosyan, is planning a rally in Yerevan, as are the authorities and the opposition, on Monday, March 1.
