Armenia: Azerbaijan blocking delivery of humanitarian aid to Karabakh

Azerbaijan keeps blocking the delivery of humanitarian assistance to the people of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) through the Lachin corridor, Armenian officials said said at the 11th Meeting of the Armenia-EU Human Rights Dialogue on Thursday, March 25, co-chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister Avet Adonts.

Representatives of the number of Government agencies and the Human Rights Defender of Armenia also participated in the meeting.

The Armenian side informed their European colleagues about the grave consequences of Azerbaijan's large-scale military aggression against Artsakh, unleashed with the direct support of Turkey.

According to a press release from the Foreign Ministry, the Armenian side also said that "Azerbaijan, in violation of the international humanitarian law, continues keeping Armenian civilians and prisoners of war as hostages and blocking the delivery of humanitarian assistance to the people of Artsakh through the Lachin corridor."

Azerbaijan's non-compliance with the interim measures of the European Court of Human Rights was also stressed.
