Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) claims to have found wreckage of two Iskander missiles allegedly fired by the Armenian side during Baku's six-week aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) in fall 2020.

The agency reported that the fragments of the missiles were discovered during a mine-clearance operation near the city of Shushi on March 15.

"During the inspection by the Agency's specialists of the identification number (9M723) of the missile, it was established that its wreckage belonged to the Iskander missile system," ANAMA said.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in late February that the Iskander missiles did not explode or weren't fully functional during hostilities in Karabakh. Several days later, however, a spokesperson for Pashinyan said the PM had been given inaccurate information concerning the situation with the Russian missiles.

Both Russia and Azerbaijan too denied that Armenia fired Iskander missiles during the war.
