Armenia Army chief meets Russian peacekeeping commander in Yerevan

The Chief of the Armenian Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Artak Davtyan on Thursday, April 1 met Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov, the commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The two discussed security issues and cooperation, as well as weighed in on the importance of repatriating the Armenian prisoners of war and organizing the search for the missing troops.

According to a press release from the General Staff, Davtyan also thanked Muradov for the efficient activity of the peacekeeping contingent.

Russian peacekeepers were deployed in Nagorno-Karabakh immediately after the completion of hostilities unleashed by Azerbaijan in fall 2020.
