Armenian Army chief says General Staff crisis "resolved"

The situation in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia has been resolved, the new chief of the General Staff Artak Davtyan said during his visit to the Yerablur military pantheon on Friday, April 2.

Davtyan said there are no problems and conflicts with generals who demanded the resignation of the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Aysor.am reports.

“There are no problems. The General Staff is working normally. There are no problems with the generals. The situation has been resolved,” Davtyan said.

Armenia plunged into a serious political crisis after the country's top military brass demanded Pashinyan's resignation. The PM, claimed, however, that he had already dismissed the chief of the Army General Staff. Weeks later, Pashinyan appointed Davtyan in the post.
