Azeri troops firing on Karabakh posts, settlements "more frequently"

Azerbaijani troops have been using various caliber weapons to violate the ceasefire in Karabakh and open fire on both civilian settlements and military posts, Karabakh Defense Army reported on Thursday, April 22.

If the Azeri forces were mainly shooting firearms into the air before, they are now specifically targeting positions and border villages more and more frequently, the report said.

"Convinced that these violations are aimed at spreading panic among the public and overshadowing the Russian peacekeeping mission, we urge the Azerbaijani side to refrain from such provocations and remain committed to agreements reached before," the Defense Army added.

As reported earlier, the Azerbaijani military has opened fire on Karabakh's capital city of Stepanakert, as well as the villages of Mkhitarashen and Shosh in Artsakh (Karabakh).
