Chakhalyans urge Georgian authorities to restore constitutional rights
Regular hearing of United Javakhk movement leader Vahagn Chakhalyan's case was held in Georgia on March 11 and 12, Yerkir Union coordinator Robert Tatoyan told PanARMENIAN.Net.

Vahagn Chakhalyan and his family members issued a statement which says that the Georgian government illegally rejected French lawyer Patrick Arapian's petition to defend their interests in the court.

Georgia's Ombudsman Sozar Subari also labeled the court decision as violation of constitutional rights.

Chakhalyans' current defender Stepan Voskanyan doesn't have fixed status, because he was told that the term of Justice Ministry's decision to include Voskanyan in the case has expired.

The family demands that proper translation of court sessions be provided and their constitutional rights restored.
