Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II is in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh)․ Arriving in Stepanakert, Karabakh's capital, Karekin visited the fraternal grave of the Armenian soldiers, according to Father Vahram Melikyan, head of the Information Services Department of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

The Catholicos laid flowers at the memorial and prayed for them, visited the graves of the victims of the war.

Karekin embarked on a four-day pontifical visit to the province of Syunik and Artsakh, accompanied by the pontifical envoy-at-large, Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan. The President of the Armenian General Benevolent Union is also a part of the delegation.
