Turkish, Azerbaijani Presidents sign declaration in Karabakh's Shushi

The presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey, Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, signed on Tuesday, June 15 a declaration on allied relations between the two states in the Nagorno-Karabakh city of Shushi, which came under Azerbaijan's control during the 44-day in fall 2020.

Aliyev described the document as "historic" and revealed that it concerns all areas of cooperation between the two countries, including in the field of defense.

The heads of state held talks in Shushi o Tuesday. On Wednesday, Erdogan is expected to deliver remarks at the parliament of Azerbaijan, as well as attend the EURO-2020 match between the national teams of Turkey and Wales.
