Armenian singer edited out of B&W photo posted by Azerbaijani museum

The State Museum of Musical Culture of Azerbaijan has shared a vintage black and white photo, in which Armenian opera singer Knarik Grigoryan has been edited out, the BBC reports.

Due to poor Photoshop skills, however, the shoulder of the singer's dress has not been removed properly. A representative for the museum claims they haven't touched the picture and have received the altered version, although they don't remember who exactly brought the photo to the museum.

Yusif Ismayil, a social media user, was the first to notice the edited version of the picture and shared the original photo on his page.

Little is known about Grigoryan who was a soloist of the Opera and Ballet Theater of Soviet Azerbaijan. Mentions of her in music catalogs go back to the 1930s and 1940s.
