Putin: Nobody interested in deepening of Karabakh crisis

Russian President Vladimir Putin believes that nobody is interested in the deepening of the crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh – neither Armenia, nor Azerbaijan, RIA Novosti reports.

"Russia has played a certain role in resolving this very serious crisis. Nobody is interested in its development: neither Azerbaijan, nor Armenia, let alone the residents of Nagorno-Karabakh," Putin said on Wednesday, June 30.

The Russian President said living "peacefully and amicably" side by side would also create conditions for improving people's lives not only from the viewpoint of security, but also economic and social development, which, he added, the people in Karabakh greatly need.

According to him, many problems have accumulated around Nagorno-Karabakh, such as the restoration of infrastructure and the delimitation of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

"We will do everything to restore normal relations in the region," the Russian leader said, adding that work is underway.
