Armenia extends quarantine regime by December 20

The nationwide quarantine regime has been extended by six months until December 20, according to a government decision approved on Saturday, July 10.

Acting Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan had said on Friday that the country was expected to extend the quarantine regime.

Armenia's government in September 2020 lifted a state of emergency declared six months earlier and replaced it by a nationwide quarantine regime. It empowers authorities to impose nationwide or local lockdowns, seal off communities hit by coronavirus outbreaks, and close the country’s borders.
