Lithuania will donate 27,500 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine to Armenia, according to a decision approved at a meeting of the Baltic republic's cabinet of ministers Wednesday, July 28, TASS reports.
"The government decided to allocate more vaccines than originally planned to Ukraine and Moldova, as well as to provide assistance to Armenia," a statement from the government revealed.
Ukraine will thus receive 131,000 doses instead of the previously announced 100,000, Moldova 26,500 doses (instead of the previous 11,000). It was decided to send 27,500 doses of Covid vaccines to Armenia, which had asked for assistance in May. Georgia, meanwhile, has already received 15,000 shots.
The number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Armenia grew by 280 to reach 229,370 on July 28 morning․ So far, 219,379 people have recovered, 4597 have died from the coronavirus in the country, while 1116 others carrying the virus have died from other causes.
