Armenia PM puts Karabakh war death toll at 3773

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has revealed that the Armenian side's death toll from the 44-day war in Nagorno-Karabakh is 3773, while 243 people are still missing.

Addressing the parliament on Tuesday, August 24, Pashinyan introduced the government's program in what he described as "emergency conditions" associated with the consequences of the 44-day war, the difficult social and economic situation in Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, the invasion of the Azerbaijani units into the territory of Armenia, and Baku's periodic violations of the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020.

"Armenia has reached a turning point that is crucial for our statehood," Pashinyan said.

According to him, however, the results of the early parliamentary elections of June 20, in which his party secured a landslide victory, testify to the end of the political crisis in the country.
