France names Anne Louyot as ambassador to Armenia

France has named Anne Louyot as its next ambassador to Armenia, according to a decree published in the Official Journal of the French Republic on Wednesday, August 25.

Louyot will replace Jonathan Lacôte, who has been "recalled for other functions," the French government said.

"I extend my congratulations to Anne Louyot," Lacôte said on social media, wishing success "in this demanding and exciting mission."

According to a decree from August 12, Lacôte is appointed Head of Service at the Central Administration of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs to exercise the functions of Deputy Director General for Political and Security Affairs, as of September 1, 2021, for a period of three years with a probationary period of six months.
