Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland discussed the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh and democratic reforms in Armenia at a meeting on the sidelines of the 73th session of the UN General Assembly on Friday, September 24.
"Good meeting with [Armenian] Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan at UNGA76," Nuland said in a tweet.
"Congratulated him on his recent appointment as Foreign Minister and discussed goal of peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, continued democratic reforms in Armenia, and regional cooperation."
Also Friday, Mirzoyan met with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group to discuss the regional situation and the Karabakh conflict.
