Powerful torchlight procession lights up Karabakh streets

A powerful torchlight procession lit up the streets of Stepanakert, the capital of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), in memory of the soldiers killed in the 44-day war unleashed by Azerbaijan in fall 2020.

September 27 marks the first anniversary of the beginning of the 44-day war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) in fall 2020.

Titled "Artsakh lives", the event marked the first anniversary of the beginning of hostilities, which left almost 4000 people dead on the Armenian side, tens of thousands other injured or homeless.

The procession on Sunday, September 26 followed a memorial service at Surb Hakob church of Stepanakert, with participants marching towards the Stepanakert Memorial and carrying a 100-meter flag of Karabakh.
