Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin discussed the prospects for the development of bilateral ties and the situation in the region over the phone on Thursday, October 7, the Azerbaijani President's office reports.

"Emphasizing the successful development of Azerbaijani-Russian bilateral relations in various fields, the heads of state expressed confidence in further strengthening cooperation, exchanged views on the prospects for relations. During the phone conversation, the situation in the region was discussed
