Erdogan to pay third visit to Azerbaijan since Karabakh war

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will pay a third visit to Azerbaijan since the 44-day war unleashed by the two countries against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), Ahval reports.

Erdogan will meet his Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev and attend the opening of the Fuzuli International Airport during a visit starting on Tuesday, October 26 state-run Anadolu news agency said on Sunday. Fuzuli is located in Nagorno-Karabakh.

On a visit to Azerbaijan in June, Erdogan and Aliyev signed the Shushi Declaration, which foresaw an expansion of political, economic and defense ties between their countries. The Turkish President also visited Azerbaijan in December last year, attending a parade marking Baku’s victory in the war.
