Russia suspends import of Turkish mandarins

Rospotrebnadzor has suspended the import of Turkish mandarins into Russia beginning from October 29 due to high pesticide levels in order to prevent the emergence and spread of infectious diseases, the watchdog reports.

"The Federal Service for the Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare has revealed violations of mandatory requirements of the law in the food products 'Fresh Mandarins'," Rospotrebnadzor said.

According to the watchdog, the mandarins were imported from Turkey.

Earlier, Rospotrebnadzor suspended the import of a number of products from China due to prohibited components in them.
