Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that Georgia has a "negative attitude" towards the idea of creating a regional negotiation format dubbed "3+3", RIA Novosti reports (via Lenta.ru).

“Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russia, Iran, Georgia and Armenia - let the six of us take a joint step and establish peace in the region,” Erdogan said on Sunday, October 31. According to him, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev "has already made an offer to Armenia regarding peace."

"There is some negative attitude on the part of Georgia, but if all these countries demonstrate a positive approach, this platform will be established, and the region will turn into a platform for peace," Erdogan added.

The Turkish leader believes that the creation of such a platform will contribute to the positive development of relations between Ankara and Yerevan.

In early October, Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani said that it would be difficult for Tbilisi to participate in the "3 + 3" format together with Moscow, but the republic should be represented in large geopolitical projects one way or another.

The matter was earlier discussed by Russian and Turkish Foreign Ministers, Sergei Lavrov and Mevlut Cavusoglu.

In October, Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani said it would be difficult for Tbilisi to participate in the "3+3" format together with Moscow, but he added that the country should be represented in large geopolitical projects one way or another.
