The Azerbaijani military opened fire towards the border village of Karmir Shuka in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) on Tuesday, November 2, Defense Army spokesperson Suren Sarumyan said, according to Artsakhpress.
"According to preliminary information, no casualties have been reported," Sarumyan said, revealing that the Armenian side has already notified the Russian peacekeeping contingent.
The Russian peacekeepers were deployed in the area on November 10, 2020, immediately after Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days. Under the deal, the Armenian side returned all the seven regions surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh, having lost a part of Karabakh itself in hostilities.
