Budget of Armenian PM's office to drop 34,5% y/y - Finance Minister

Armenia's 2022 draft budget envisages allocating more than AMD 19.6 billion – down by 34,5% year-on-year – to the office of the Prime Minister, the Minister of Finance Tigran Khachatryan told lawmakers on Wednesday, November 3.

"The Prime Minister's office is planning to implement 11 programs (25 events) during 2022, two of which are related to the Diaspora. All expenditures, including sub-loans, are estimated to total AMD 19 billion 675 million, according to the draft state budget of the country for next year," Khachatryan noted.

He said the budget approved for 2021 envisaged spending over AMD 34.2 billion on 45 events. According to him, numerous programs and events that were implemented in the past year by the Prime Minister's office, will in the future be trusted to a number of other agencies, in particular, the Ministry of High-Tech Industry.
