12 Armenian soldiers captured by Azerbaijan

12 Armenian servicemen – seven contract soldiers and five conscripts – have been captured by Azerbaijan as a result of a major attack in the country's south, the Defense Ministry reports.

According to the Armenian side, the situation remains extremely tense as of 5:00pm Tuesday, November 16. The Defense Ministry said the Armenian army has retaliated, causing "major losses" to the enemy and destroying about a dozen armored vehicles.

Azerbaijan launched a new attack in the province of Syunik on Tuesday, shelling the Armenian positions and using artillery and armored vehicles, the Defense Ministry reported earlier. Authorities have already confirmed deaths and injuries among the Armenian army personnel. Although the Defense Ministry has not provided a specific number of deaths and injuries, it has revealed that the Armenian side has also lost two positions in Syunik.
