Pashinyan, Putin discuss regional developments

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke over the phone on Sunday, November 21, the Kremlin said in a statement.

"The discussion of the situation in the region and measures taken to stabilize it went on in the context of the implementation of the trilateral agreements on Nagorno-Karabakh of November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021," the statement said.

"Nikol Pashinyan expressed gratitude for the active mediation efforts of Russia. further contacts were agreed upon."

Pashinyan and Putin spoke over the phone on November 16 too, the day Azerbaijan launched a fresh offensive in the province of Syunik. The Armenian side has confirmed deaths and injuries, while 13 soldiers have been captured by Azerbaijan. Two combat positions too have gone under the control of Azeri forces, 24 Armenian troops have gone missing.
