Lawmaker from the parliament's opposition "I Have Honor" bloc Tigran Abrahamyan believes that there is a possibility of a new aggression from Azerbaijan in the near future.

Abrahamyan said in a Facebook post on Monday, November 29 that during the November 26 summit of the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia, Azerbaijan's aggression against Armenia was perceived as a mere "border dispute".

"Moreover, the Azerbaijani President was constantly trying to present the aggression against the Republic of Armenia as an unplanned border incident," Abrahamyan wrote.

"These statements prove that regardless of whether delimitation begins or borders are unblocked, the possibility of a new aggression from Azerbaijan in the near future remains. It turns out that in terms of international perceptions, local actions in different sections of the border will be qualified as a "border dispute", and its responsibility will equally rest with both sides."

According to the lawmaker, the international community will only notice that red lines have been crossed when large-scale military operations happen.

"And it remains to be seen whether restraining Azerbaijan in such an event will rule out a new capitulation for Armenia," he added.

Azerbaijani forces violated Armenia’s border in several sections in the provinces of Syunik and Gegharkunik on May 12 and 13 and are still refusing to withdraw their troops from the area. On November 16, Azerbaijan launched an unprovoked offensive in Syunik, killing and capturing Armenian servicemen, as well as seizing two position.
