Putin hopes further dynamic development of Armenia-Russia ties

Russian President Vladimir Putin hopes Moscow and Yerevan will continue joint efforts to ensure the further dynamic development of bilateral cooperation.

In a message sent to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on New Year and Christmas, Putin said regular contacts over the past year have confirmed the friendly and allied nature of Russian-Armenian relations, the Armenian government reports.

“I hope that by joint efforts we will ensure the further dynamic development of bilateral cooperation in various fields, as well as partnership within the EAEU, CSTO, CIS and other multilateral structures," Putin said.

"This corresponds to the fundamental interests of the fraternal peoples of Russia and Armenia, consonant with the strengthening of security and stability in the South Caucasus region."

Putin sent a similar message to President Armen Sarkissian too.

“Russian-Armenian relations are based on good traditions of friendship, cultural and spiritual closeness. I am confident that in the coming year, bilateral allied interaction, constructive cooperation in various fields will be further developed, for the benefit of our fraternal peoples, in the interests of strengthening regional stability and security," Putin was quoted as saying by the Armenian President's office.
