U.S. donates 306,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine to Armenia

306,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine donated by the United States arrived in Armenia on Sunday, March 13, the Ministry of Health reports.

Besides that shots, the Biden administrations has provided $15 million to help Armenia fight the coronavirus pandemic. The assistance package includes 12,000 PCR test kits, oxygen concentrators, pulse oximeters, X-ray ultrasound equipment, ventilators, and other equipment essential for medical treatment,

Masks, personal protective equipment, disinfectants and other things have also been sent by the U.S. government, and psychological, food and non-food assistance has been provided to vulnerable people.

Besides Pfizer, Armenia is also using AstraZeneca, Sputnik-V, Moderna, SinoPharm and CoronaVac vaccines to inoculate people aged above 18. The vaccination program rolled out across the country in mid-April, with health authorities also setting up mobile vaccination facilities in shopping malls and on major streets in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia.
