Putin says will speak to Pashinyan on March 25

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that he will talk by phone with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Friday, March 25.

On Friday, Putin talked to the winners of presidential awards, one of whom spoke warmly about Armenia.

"I will have the opportunity today to convey your kind words about Yerevan to the Prime Minister of Armenia, with whom I will have a telephone conversation. I think he will be pleased," RIA Novosti cited Putin said.

Putins remarks come amid renewed tension in Karabakh (Artsakh). In the past two days, Azerbaijan has been using drones and other munitions to attack Nagorno-Karabakh and has managed to capture a village, kill two soldiers and injure at least five others. It was reported on Friday that lengthy negotiations of the Russian peacekeeping troops have not yielded significant results, and that the Azeris have not returned to the starting positions.
