Armenia, Slovakia sign Economic Cooperation Agreement

Armenia and Slovakia have sealed an Agreement on Economic Cooperation between the two countries, the Armenian Ministry of Economy reports.

The document was signed by the Economy Minister Vahan Kerobyan and Slovakia's Ambassador to Yerevan Miroslav Hacek on Friday, April 8.

With the paper, the sides agreed to deepen ties in industry, tourism, energy, agriculture, small and medium-sized enterprises, transport and infrastructure, environmental protection, information and communication technologies. Among sectors worth working on in the future, Kerboyan cited metallurgy, mechanical engineering, microelectronics, chemistry, rubber production, jewelry, textile industry and pharmaceuticals.

Hacek suggested to consider Slovakia, an EU-member state, as a European hub which Armenia could use to strengthen its economic ties with other countries of Europe. According to him, in Slovakia, Armenia is perceived as a country with great potential for development, with highly qualified human resources and the the rapid development of the country in the field of information technologies.
