Karabakh denies more Azerbaijani incursions into Armenian soil

Nagorno-Karabakh authorities have denied reports that the Azerbaijani military has further advanced into Armenian territories.

The head of the Sardarashen community Hayk Hakobyan said earlier that the Azerbaijanis have advanced towards his village as well. But the NKR InfoCenter released a statement on Monday, April 11, maintaining that the Azeris are in the same positions they occupied on March 24-25.

Azerbaijan has broken into Nagorno-Karabakh, and the incursion has left three Armenian soldiers dead and at least 14 others injured. On March 24, Azerbaijan stormed into the zone of the responsibility of the Russian peacekeepers stationed in the area and is refusing to completely withdraw its forces from strategic heights.

"The Azerbaijani troops continue to remain in the part of Karaglukh, where their advance was stopped as a result of the actions of the Defense Army units on March 24-25, and that part is adjacent to several villages, including Sardarashen," the statement from Karabakh reads.

"At the same time, the Azerbaijani side regularly spreads disinformation about alleged new incursions in various directions, the latest of which referred to some villages in Martakert. The reality is that such allegations are completely false; no change in positions has been registered along the entire line of contact since the said events in Parukh and Karaglukh."
