The Armenian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers will meet on the sidelines of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers in Dushanbe on May 13, according to a statement from the Armenian side.

The matter was discussed in a phone call between Armenian and Russian Foreign Ministers Ararat Mirzoyan and Sergei Lavrov, with the latter set to join the meeting as well.

Mirzoyan and Lavrov "expressed satisfaction" with the results of the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's official visit to Russia, reaffirmed the commitment of the parties to the provisions of the April 19 joint statement signed by the leaders of the two countries.

The foreign policy chiefs also weighed in on trilateral statements adopted on November 9, 2020, January 11 and November 26, 2021, as well as the formation of the a commission on demarcation and border security between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Mirzoyan reaffirmed Armenia's position on the processes aimed at establishing regional peace and stability, negotiations on a comprehensive peace agreement with Azerbaijan.

The Armenian Foreign Ministry said earlier it had no information about a possible meeting of representatives of Yerevan and Baku in early May in Brussels, which was announced by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, TASS cited Foreign Ministry spokesperson Vahan Hunanyan as saying.
