A second earthquake, this time measuring 2.7 on the Richter scale, hit the area near the border with Georgia on Monday, May 2, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reports.

The tremor happened at a depth of 10 km below the surface. It has not caused any damage, but was felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.

Weak shaking was felt in several communities of Shirak province.

Two stronger quakes shook the same area hours earlier and on May 1, and were felt in even more towns and cities in the north of the country.
