Armenia explains why border commission hasn't met yet

The commission on the delimitation and demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border hasn't met yet due "some technicalities" that have yet to be agreed upon, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has said.

"The meeting didn’t take place but I can assure you that we will continue our talks about organizing this meeting," Mirzoyan told reporters ahead of the session of Armenia-EU Partnership Council on Wednesday, May 18.

"There are some technicalities to be agreed by the sides. And hopefully, in the upcoming days and weeks, we will finally have this meeting."

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met in Brussels on April 6 and agreed to set up a bilateral border commission by the end of April. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said on May 10 that Baku and Yerevan have agreed on the structure of the commission.
