Europarliament looks forward to normalization of ties between Yerevan and Ankara
We're looking forward to normalization of Turkish -Armenian ties and hope agreement on border opening will soon be achieved, Europarliament MP, Armenia-EU Parliamentary Cooperation Committee Co-Chair Mari-Ann Isler Bergin said.

Referring to the possibility of Turkey's joining EU, the Co-Chair noted that Turkey will be granted membership only upon fulfilling all of EU conditions set. "Negotiations on Turkey's EU membership are in progress. We'd welcome Southern Caucasus states' joining EU, I hope this will happen in nearest future," Mrs. Bergin noted.

Speaking on Armenia-EU Cooperation, the Co-Chair stressed that Yerevan and Brussels are actively cooperating within the framework of European neighborhood policy. ''Eastern partnership project can help strengthen existing collaboration and bring Eastern Partnership Member States closer to European values,'' Mari-Ann Isler Bergin stressed.
