Christie’s is putting up for sale one of the pieces of Iranian-Armenian and American artist Marcos Grigorian.

The "Untitled" piece is mud and resin on canvas laid on board and is estimated to bring £45,000 (around $55,000). According to information published by the auction house, it was created in 1993.

Grigorian's series, Earthworks, was on canvas and it used a mixture of clay and straw, which is commonly found as a building material in villages in Iran. He was also an early artist with land art in Iran.

The artist's work is included in various museum collections, including at the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York City; Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City; Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art; Museum of Contemporary Art in Kerman; the Near East Art Museum in Yerevan; and the National Gallery of Armenia.
