Genocide recognition can't be linked to Armenian-Turkish border opening
U.S. President Barack Obama's speech in the Turkish Parliament is positive but not satisfactory for ARF Dashnaktsutyun, according ARF Bureau's Hay Dat and Political Affairs Office Director.

"When a Senator, Mr. Obama pledged to recognize the Armenian Genocide but he did not seize the opportunity during his visit to Turkey. If he falls short of using the proper term in his April 24 statement it will mean that he yielded to Ankara's pressure. Such scenario will have grave political consequences," Kiro Manoyan told a news conference today.

However, he stressed that Barack Obama is the only U.S. President who called on Turkey to face its past when addressing the Turkish parliament.
