Armenian-Turkish border opening: Does Azerbaijan threaten Turkey?
Azerbaijani ruling party believes recent statements by Turkish authorities on not opening borders with Armenia are sincere.
"Today Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said once again that they will never take a step to the detriment of Azerbaijan's interests. We should wait for the further development of events," Azerbaijani ruling party Deputy Executive Secretary and MP Siyavush Novruzov said.
Novruzov said there is no ground not to believe statements by Turkish officials.
"Opening borders with Armenia is a serious issue for inter-state and intergovernmental ties. An action should stand behind these statements," he added.
He said if Turkish authorities do not keep their promise, serious steps will be taken, Trend News reported.
