Yerevan: No new Armenia-Turkey meeting agreed on

Foreign Ministry spokesman Vahan Hunanyan said Thursday, August 11 that no agreement has been reached regarding a meeting of the special representatives of the Armenia and Turkey on the normalization of relations.

"We inform the public about the meetings of the special representatives of the Armenia-Turkey relations normalization process in advance," Pastinfo cited the spokesperson as saying on Thursday.

According to Turkish media reports, the next meeting of representatives of Armenia and Turkey will take place in Ankara in September.

Armenia and Turkey last December named special envoys to discuss the normalization of ties. Four rounds of talks followed on January 14, February 24, May 3 and July 1. During their last meeting, they also agreed on commencing direct air cargo trade between Armenia and Turkey at the earliest possible date and decided to initiate the necessary process to that effect.
