Russian envoy not cited among diplomats visiting town hit by Azeris

Representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Armenia have visited to the town of Jermuk, which was targeted by the Azerbaijani military during Baku’s latest aggression against Armenia.

According to a report from Armenpress, the ambassadors of the Netherlands, Great Britain, the United States, France, the European Union, China and Argentina, the Chargé d'affaires at Georgia’s embassy, diplomats and military attachés from other missions were among those said to be visiting Jermuk.

The chief of the General Staff of the Armenian armed forces, Edvard Asryan, is accompanying the delegation on Friday, September 16.

Also Friday, Asryan said that the Azerbaijani military units are currently 4.5 km away from the gates of Jermuk.

Asryan also revealed that the Azerbaijanis have managed to advance near the villages of Nerkin Hand and Shorzha (1.5 km) and Ishkhanasar (0.5 km).

The Armenian Defense Ministry said on Friday morning that no significant incidents were registered overnight. 135 Armenians have been confirmed dead so far.
