Karabakh President traveling to Armenia to “discuss the situation”

A delegation led by Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) President Arayik Harutyunyan will travel to Yerevan to “discuss the situation” with top Armenian officials, presidential spokesperson Lusine Avanesyan has said, according to Artsakhpress.

“The main purpose of the visit is to discuss the Prague declaration dated October 6, 2022, according to which Armenia and Azerbaijan confirm their commitment to the UN Charter and the 1991 Alma-Ata Declaration, through which they recognize each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty,” Avanesyan was quoted as saying.

“Among the members of the Artsakh delegation are Speaker of the National Assembly Artur Tovmasyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Davit Babayan, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee Vahram Balayan, andAdvisor to the President of Karabakh Masis Mayilyan.”

The trip comes on the heels of another meeting between the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, France and the European Union, during which Armenia also agreed to support a EU civilian mission along the border with Azerbaijan.
