Peter Semneby calls on Turkey to reopen Armenian border
A senior European Union official has called on Turkey to reopen its border with Armenia. Peter Semneby, the European Union's top envoy to the South Caucasus region, says any effort to resolve the situation is important and benefits both the region and the EU. He says the reopening of the border could lead to reconciliation between the neighbors and strengthen stability in the region, Associated Press reports.

Semneby told a group of journalists on Tuesday that the EU hopes the issue can be addressed "speedily."
