Damage inflicted by recent frost in being assessed
Recent snowfalls in low lying regions of Armenia might damage drupe trees, RA Deputy Minister of Agriculture Samvel Galstyan told a news conference on Wednesday.

According to Deputy Minister, the strongest frosts were registered in Tavush region, Vayots Dzor, Aragatsotn, Kotayk, where the temperature went below -4 -10 oC

According to Galstyan, temperature in Ararat valley didn't go below 0, and no serious issues were registered there. "I believe we won't have serious losses and will be able to keep the market and preserve the existing price policy," Sargsyan said.

Around a week ago in the low lying regions of Armavir region a temperature of -1 oC was registered. Salstyan informed that a committee was created to assess the damage to Drupe trees (apricot, peach, plum) and implement corresponding measures to mitigate it."
