Tbilisi does everything possible to drive Armenians out of Javakheti
Georgia is multiethnic country and solution of domestic problems is not possible without participation of ethnic minorities, an Armenian expert said.

"Today oppositionists do not suggest any idea to lead the country out of the current situation. That is why Armenian population of Samtskhe-Javakheti does not anchor hopes with them. That is hopeless war for ruling and ethnic minorities of Georgia are passive in this respect," Haykazun Alvrtsyan, director of Western Armenians Studies Center, told reporters in Yerevan.

Dwelling on the problems of the Armenian population of Javakheti, he noted that Georgian authorities see the problem solution only by evicting Armenians from this region.

"Retention of Armenian Diaspora in Samtskhe-Javakheti has strategic meaning for Armenia. If Georgians manage to clear the region from Armenians, Meskhetian Turks will transmigrate there. In this case Armenia will be in total Turkish blockade," Alvrtsyan said.
