Examination of bodies returned by Azerbaijan still "in progress"

The examination of the bodies of 10 servicemen transferred from Azerbaijan to Armenia is underway, Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan told reporters on Thursday, November 3, Panorama.am reports.

Avanesyan said health authorities will inform the public when the process is completed.

"At the moment, there is no need to transfer them abroad, but if we have cases where we don't get results after a repeat examination, we will definitely seek help from our foreign partners," he emphasized.

The bodies were transferred to the Armenian side days earlier.

The latest round of fighting between the two countries began in the wee hours of September 13, when the Azerbaijani military attacked Armenian posts and shelled Armenian settlements both on the border and deep behind the frontline. More than 200 people are dead or missing as a result, the Security Council of Armenia said several days later.
