Alexander Grigoryan: our actors' performance was stopped by applauds for 13 times
Honorable prize of Meetings in Russian 11th International Festival of CIS and Baltic theaters after people's artist Kirill Lavrov was awarded to Yerevan State Russian Dramatic Theater of K. Stanislavksi for staging "Passions for Inspector" based on N. Gogol play.

"This is a unique prize for me. This is a prize of great actor, public figure, who did a lot to develop Russian theaters in CIS counties and Baltic," theater Art Director Alexander Grigoryan said.

Theaters from 14 countries took part in festival held in Saint Petersburg from April 1 to 8.

"We are proud to represent an Armenian theater," Grigoryan said, adding that performance of actors was stopped by applauds for 13 times.

"This victory is not a surprise to me, since I knew the staging would be appreciated highly. And Alexander Grigoryan's contribution is obvious," said Hakob Ghazanchyan, member of Union of Theaters of Armenia. "The theater's victory has not only cultural but also national significance for Armenia."
