President of the Armenian National Assembly Alen Simonyan on Tuesday, December 13 described Azerbaijan’s blocking of the Armenia-Karabakh corridor as an attempt of ethnic cleansing of Armenians of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).

“So-called Azerbaijani “environments” in civilian clothing and companied by military officers blocked the only route connecting Nagorno-Karabakh with Arrmenia, literally taking 120,000 Armenians hostage. In addition, gas supply to Karabakh was try,” Simonyan said.

“It’s another attempt of ethnic cleansing of Armenians of Artsakh. Is the world going to turn a blind eye again?”

On Monday morning, several Azerbaijani nationals, who claimed to be environmental experts, blocked passage through the Lachin corridor, the only road linking Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. Yerevan slammed this step as a provocation staged by Baku to cause a humanitarian collapse in Karabakh.
