Due to the blockade of the sole road connecting Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh) to Armenia by Azerbaijan, the educational process in daycare facilities in Karabakh will be organized a little differently beginning from January 9.
The work of nursery institutions, pre-school groups and extended-day schools will be temporarily suspended due to insufficient food supplies.
Public schools will continue to work normally.
Since December 12, the sole road connecting Nagorno Karabakh to Armenia - the Lachin Corridor - has been blocked by self-described Azerbaijani environmentalists. Karabakh residents have reported food and fuel shortages, while hospital patients don't have access to essential medicines, with only a handful allowed transfer to facilities in Armenia proper.
